So school started for me last week, and with it my first school art class in 4 years. I stopped when I couldn't have 2 electives anymore (I continued taking orchestra) and I figured I could just draw by myself at home. So I didn't know any of the procedures in that class, everyone else had taken art in their freshman and sophomore years and I felt like a noob
My first piece was supposed to be a scene of dragons in a canyon, I liked the sketch a lot and I decided to color it with pastels... bad idea. The paper was really toothy so no matter how hard I used the pastel there were white spaces and pastel dust was everywhere. The colors were really bright and disgusting too. The next class, I brought my old watercolors from home and started to redo the whole thing on another sheet of paper. And it turned out the paper wasn't exactly the greatest... it was much too thin to be proper watercolor paper and it ate all the paint I put on the paper and started coming off in some places. I think after I finish this painting I'm gonna stick to graphite in that class lol (which I haven't touched since 6th grade, oh man.)
How is everyone else's school art class, or home art if you don't have one?
